Question of the day

I lost a hundred dollar bill today… for about sixty seconds. It was truly frightening.
My patience! Today was Uncle Sam’s payday (3rd quarter estimates due) and I was in a hurry to print out my vouchers and get it going. No dice! Computer got hung up not once, but twice. WHO has time for that? I was already ticked because I should have gotten it ready earlier, so I could drop it into a nearby mailbox. Instead I had to drive it down to the airmail facility by the airport. Blah! Like I have all kinds of extra time in the evenings. It all worked out fine, though.
Oh, and since you were probably talking about tangible “things,” I momentarily lost my cell phone while I was dealing with the above-mentioned issue. I found it pretty quick, though.
Lost forever? I would have to think about that one. I am normally a pretty organized person (tonight notwithstanding). I did lose a $25,000 check from a client a few months ago. Awesome, huh?
The only BIG thing I can think of was 8 yrs ago, 3 months after we got married I lost my wedding ring!!!
Did you ever find it? I love my first set of wedding rings too. I never found them but I traced them back to the Blue Fin Bay where we’d stayed at the north shore for a week. By the time I remembered, nobody had seen them. I didn’t get a new one for many, MANY years.
Nope never found it!!! I was cleaning the basement at mom’s house and my hands were wet and I don’t know what happened or where it went. I threw the bucket of water outside so it could’ve gone out there. Still to this day, whenever I’m out there I kinda look around in the rocks outside for it. But ask mom, there’s lots of jewelery that seem to “disappear” in that house or yard!!!!
My mind. Please let me know if you find it.
No fair, you took my answer, but I was going to end with, “and I’m still looking for it, have you seen it?” Great minds thinking alike I guess! (Yeah, yeah, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. LOL!) 🙂
I lose my coffee mug every morning! I blame it on a lack of coffee!
I lost a few pounds and i dont want them back!! lol
Good for you.
Excellent. Keep it up!
Ok, seriously. The last thing… was the red hangy-top thing (yes, that is the technical name for it. I looked it up) from my hummingbird feeder. I had it right on the kitchen counter on Sunday, when my mom filled the feeder, and we realized that it had come off and we couldn’t get it back on. So we put the feeder out on the railing of the balcony, hoping the birds would feed. I bought some glue to fix it on Tuesday, and when I went to fix it, the top was gone. I’ve tore this place apart looking for it. I decided today that it’s just not worth it, when a new feeder is around $5. I figure, as soon as I get the new one, I’ll find the top of the old one.
OH!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO TELL YOU GUYS!!!
Speaking of hummingbirds… Yesterday, it was so ridiculously gorgeous outside that I had to open the doors and windows. I have two sliding doors on the front of my house that have screen doors attached. Except we had to take the screen doors down ’cause the screens needed replacing. But it was so nice, that I opened one of the doors anyway. About two feet open. I went downstairs for a while, and when I came back up, I heard this buzzing and tap-tap-tapping… AND THERE WAS A HUMMINGBIRD IN MY HOUSE. Female Ruby Throat. She was flying against the sliding glass door, trying to get out.
So I went up behind her, and coaxed her down – she kept trying to fly forward, and hitting the glass – and she landed on the ground. I slid my left hand under her, and cupped my right hand over her, and carried her to the opening and let her out.
I’ve carried feathers that weighed more. It was phenomenally cool. And I didn’t get a picture. I could kick myself. But she’s ok, so that’s the important thing.
That’s the coolest thing. I’m glad you got her and got her out without her being hurt. Amazing. Too bad you didn’t get a photo for us.
I don’t really lose things “forever.” I’m like Laura, it’s there and then it’s not. I’ll put something down and forget where I put it. Sometimes I find it right away and sometimes not. I usually find it as soon as I stop looking. I guess I “misplace” more than lose.
PS… what’d I tell ya? I found the lid. Someone (NOT ME) had put it in the pantry IN THE BOX OF GIANT MILKBONES!!! I blame Cruiser. I haven’t been in that box for more than two weeks.
I lost my wedding band. 😦 It took 5 years to get it, and I lost it at our old house. Maybe someday I’ll get anew one.
I misplace things daily, several times a day! I have serious ADD and I’m not medicated so my mind is all over the place!
I didn’t know you lost that. Awe geeze.
😦 Yep. I felt so bad, still do!
I felt really bad when I lost mine too. I still feel bad because I really liked that diamond.
I didn’t know either! I’m sorry 😦
I really can’t think of anything of significance that I’ve lost lately. I’ve lost things, but at the moment I can’t think of anything!
that’s cause you don’t know you lost it yet.
