Grilled Tomato Salsa Appetizers

what you need

12 oz. (about 21) cherry tomatoes
1 small  onion, quartered
1 jalapeño pepper
1/4 cup  KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing, divided
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 Tbsp.  KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 Tbsp. chopped basil
1   French baguette, cut into 24 slices, toasted

PREHEAT grill to medium-high heat. Mix tomatoes, onion, pepper and 2 Tbsp. of the dressing in medium bowl. Mix cream cheese and Parmesan cheese in separate bowl until well blended; set aside.

PLACE tomatoes and onion on separate skewers. Place skewers and jalapeño pepper on grill grate. Grill 6 to 8 min. or until tender, turning every 2 min. and brushing with remaining 2 Tbsp. dressing.

REMOVE tomatoes and onion from skewers; chop onion. Seed and chop pepper. Mix tomates, onion, pepper and basil with fork until tomatoes are chunky.

SPREAD each baguette slice with cream cheese mixture. Top with tomato mixture. Serve warm or cold.

SUBSTITUTE
Prepare as directed, using KRAFT Light Italian Dressing and PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese.
COOKING KNOW-HOW
There’s no need to chop the grilled tomatoes, after grilling, they become soft enough to toss lightly and serve over the breads.
MAKE AHEAD
The salsa can be made a day ahead and kept in the refrigerator until ready to assemble.
