We used to sit down and write meals out for the whole week. We’ve strayed away from that and would like to do that again. It makes things a whole lot easier!!!
When I’m really crazy organized (and I’m trying to get back there), I have a monthly system. I’ve got a little bucket with a bunch of slips of paper in it, each with a meal on it. We take turns pulling meals out of the bucket and I write them on a month of the calendar. And in about ten minutes, the meals are planned for the month. But I haven’t done it in a long time. Lately it’s all been seat-of-the-pants, and I’m frazzled because of it.
I couldn’t do it for breakfast and lunch tho. Just dinners.
I just fly by the seat of my pants. Maybe if I planned my dinners out the seat of my pants would get smaller!
That made me laugh! Ha ha ha!
LOL!
Only you JAM. LMAO!!!
I don’t plan dinners. I might plan a day or two in advance, but that’s it. What if on menu day it says I’m having spaghetti, but I’m not in the mood for spaghetti? I’m sure it’d be easier. Maybe someday I’ll try it.
Well you don’t have to “assign” the food to a certain day but if you plan for it, you have all the stuff. I know what you mean. Some days you just don’t feel like certain things.
No planning here.I may think up a meal the evening before but more often just wing it the day of.
I also fly by the ample seat of my pants, for the most part.
In my case, that usually means, “should we do Bob Evans or Panera today? Cereal bars or PBJ? McD’s oatmeal or Subway? Or, do our duty and eat the leftovers?”
Yes, I plan. I sit down and plan out 7 meals, with the help of the boys, then I make the grocery list. I know that chicken will be the main meat 2-3 times a week, so I have to mix it up so we don’t have it 2 days in a row. I have to have some sort of plan.
Because of my ongoing fight with my ED, I still know exactly what I’m going to eat, every single day. Sure, it’s dull, but it keeps me from my anxiety.
I plan when I am in the grocery sore. I see things I wanted to make and that is my plan then. Mostly for about 3 to 4 days. But now, since I am dieting, it is so much harder. 4 more pounds of my weight and I can slightly start making meals for both of us.
