Pull Up a Spot

Ohmygoodness, do I love Fall. And one of the things I love about fall is Hayrides. Even though i can’t remember the last time I went on one, and they don’t do REAL hayrides anymore – the ones pulled by gorgeous horses (like these percherons). They use smelly, noisy, tractors.

Well, today, we’re going on a REAL hayride, so we can enjoy the sway of the wagon, the soothing clip-clop of the horses’ hooves, and the relaxation that goes along.

Pull up a bale, wrap in a blanket, relax and share your plans for the week. And since there are horses involved again, anyone who is mean gets “Pileit” duty.

Ahh, that sounds nice. If only life wasn’t so darn hectic at this time of the year!

I don’t have much to report for this weekend. Pretty standard stuff. I have been easing up on the homeschooling type stuff. For a while there, I think I was trying to squeeze too much in, and I don’t think I really need to do that. Better to do a few things well than a bunch of stuff half-assed. Besides, something is going on with Miss E, and I don’t want to be a pain in her ass. I put the situation out on a couple of forums, and the most popular answer is that she’s missing her old friends (who moved up to KG or left the school), and hasn’t yet decided to make the best of her new situation. She definitely doesn’t feel well physically, regardless of the reason. Anyhoo, I’ll give her a little more time to get oriented and then if necessary, I’ll take her to the doc.

I was up most of last night to get a project out. Just like old times! I have to say I’ve gotten more sleep in the past two months than I think I’ve averaged in the previous 20 years. But all good things must come to an end! This week I have a lot of stuff to complete.

Internet-wise, I keep telling myself that I’m gonna be good, and then I break my rule. Obviously I’m not taking this seriously enough. I’m not giving up yet, though.

I hope everyone has a great week! I agree, fall is the awesomest!

We do not have much of a fall here, beside fog and a little bit of rain and thunder.
This week will be busy and exciting! I have to prepare the house/guest bedroom for my family!! My sister and her husband are coming Thursday over from Holland and we will go on a road trip to Utah! My sister is on remission of breast cancer and we are so excited to see her again.

I hope everybody will have a great week!

Well, after the craziness of the last few weeks, with Josh’s birthday and visitors coming and going, I think I’ve got a bit of a reprieve for a little while. No big meetings this week, nothing major going on. I might have a good chunk of time now to tackle one of the many de-cluttering and get-organized projects that have been circling around in my head. I just have to decide which one is priority… the Closet from Hell, the Storage Room of Doom, or the Bookshelf of Purgatory… I’m thinking the Storage Room. There are so many baby clothes and little kid toys down there that need to be sorted and donated. I keep thinking of putting them up for sale, and never do, which is why they sit and sit and sit. I should just get them out and make them go, and be done with it. Yeah, we could use the few bucks that selling the stuff would bring in, but I think I could use the peace of mind more. And heaven knows we need the space!!

Selling them is a pain in the butt and you still have to deal with them until you do. GET RID OF THEM. Then they’re just over, done with, gone.

Good luck. Just pick one space and stick with that one space. If a whole room is too much, just try that.

It’s funny this post is about this. We did this yesterday. During the football game Sue and I snuck away and went to the apple orchard. With the kids too of course and we did the horse and wagon ride as well as the corn maze and we found everything hidden in there this time. The theme was The Great Pumpkin with Charlie Brown and the gang. The gnats were so horrible though that there were times we couldn’t breathe. They were awful. But we sure did get some good apples.

Tonight we have our second weigh in. Vicki and I have been working our butts off. I just wish they’d disappear faster. I think we’re both doing okay but we both want faster results. I’m pretty confidant that I’m down. Not by more than a pound or so but I’m going to be happy with that because both of us have felt out bodies changing. I’m keeping a positive attitude. I know it takes a while to come off. I just didn’t wake up one day needing to lose 60 pounds!

I have a nice week this one coming without a whole lot going on. After last week this feels nice. I’m just not sure, other than tidying up, what I’ll do all week. It’s going to be gorgeous weather. You all have a great one.

We plan on doing the whole apple orchard-hay ride this coming Sunday! Bailey has early games 10 & noon, so that opens up our whole Sunday. I LOVE apple cider, and can’t wait to have some and I really can’t wait for the apple-cinnamon donuts!

This weekend was nice, but not long enough. I was not ready for today to come. 😦 I don’t have a whole lot going on this week. The normal stuff, baseball. More Fall cleaning. I have a project that I kinda started. I found a little bike for Lilly (3 yrs old) and it’s perfect size for her, with training wheels. But it’s rusty and needs a new chain, and she wants it painted blue. BLUE! I thought she’d say pink, but blue it is, and she wants a matching blue helmet. So, I’ll start taking that a part this week. I bought it for $1! 🙂

    Have a great week, everyone!

Gosh I can’t remember the last time we went on a horse drwan hay ride.

I’m helping cut down a big redoak tree on the new property our church is purchasing.

Well we hit 100 degrees again today so I can’t get in the mood for Fall yet. This week is actually a quiet week for a change. I think I am going to rest up because after this week we are non-stop until Thanksgiving!
