  1. I try not to… But yeah, I’ve been known to use them on occasion :).

  2. Joy says:

I do use them but not nearly as much as I have in the past. With just the two of us now, I need to fill the bottom of the dishwasher or all we use are the glasses and silverware.

  3. Jason says:

We have styrofoam, and we use them way more than anyone should.

    • Jenny says:

haha shush! I knew you would answer this question!! Yes i like my throw away plates…so what?

    • Joy says:

There’s not a thing wrong with it Jenny. Like I say, until it was just Paul and I, back in the day, we used them a LOT. But I have a “thing” with styrofoam. I hate the squeak it makes. It makes the hair on my arms stand up.

  4. Sue says:

Not often and I would choose paper over Styrofoam any day!

  5. SKL says:

No. Sometimes when we have a lot of people over, we use plastic throwaway plates. But we never pull out the disposables for just us.

It’s not that we’re fancy. Just cheap. I mostly use old stoneware plates that were handed down to me over 20 years ago by a grad student – filthy (I did scrub the grime off, along with most of the paint). After I eat, I rinse and put back in the dish drainer, so it’s there the next time I want to eat. Pretty much as lazy as paper plates, considering paper plates require you to take out the garbage.

I use paper sometimes when we have a big get together here.I try on weekends to get my hubby to use them too but he doesnt like using them.Im trying to get a break from washing dishes for just a few days,no dishwasher :(…oh well. They dont work so well for hot meals anyhow.

  7. Vicki says:

I use styrofoam plates a lot..speaking of which i am out and badly wish i had some for when i feed this crew again today..I am getting dish pan hands…really!! 🙂 lol

    • Vicki says:

hahahaha your funny, Thanks Joy for bringing me some plates over even though it was like 5 minutes too late..i used some to send food home with people..

  8. Laura says:

I will use paper plates (the strong ones), because as far as I know, styrofoam isn’t recyclable, and that just irritates me. Why use something that’s just going to sit in a landfill when you’re done? At least the paper will degrade, even if it’s not recycled.

I don’t use them often, though. When I’m feeling particularly lazy, when we’re eating outside, or when I have a TON of people over, that’s about it.

  9. Nikki says:

Close to never. I did today, because we were at the ball field and had sandwiches. I prefer plastic to paper, they’re sturdier. Birthdays, BBQ’s, and baseball days is it for us. I do not have them in the house, for everyday use.
