Breyer horses. And not too long ago, I sold all of them!

  2. Sue says:

We also had Breyer horses, but I never got into it like my sisters did. I didn’t really collect anything b/c when you live in a 2 bedroom house and 4 kids are sharing a room, there just isn’t space to keep a lot of things!

  3. Laura says:

yep. Breyers here, too. I still have mine in a box. I was hoping to pass them on to my horse-crazy daughter…. who turned out to be a car- and lego-crazy boy!! During my teens, I went through a Precious Moments phase. I gave a lot of them to my sis-in-law who is still collecting them (she has display cabinets FULL of them), and some packed away in boxes awaiting the day I finally get off my lazy butt and Craigslist/Ebay them.

Oh yeah, and Pet Peeves. I’m still actively collecting those.

  4. Nikki says:

Not really. At one point I did collect cows. Yeah, cows. For Christmas my Grandma bought me a comforter that had the cow print, and my mom got me cow stuff. I don’t remember exactly what, but I don’t think it lasted too long. I remember thinking, when I get older and have a car, I’m going to have cow print seat covers! lol

  5. Just a Mom says:

I had a doll collection which I still have tucked away in my closet. My dad did a ton of traveling with his job and everytime he went out of the country or out of state he brought me a doll from where he went. I also collected erasers that were different shapes and were scented. I tried collecting stamps and I do still have a ton of foreign coins. Wait maybe it’s not collecting I was doing…I think I was a child hoarder!

I used to have little collections of things at different times, but I don’t think I was ever a serious collector as a kid. (I too shared a room with up to 3 siblings until high school). I started collecting kids’ books as a young adult, while still living in my parents’ house. But I was a “closet” collector, because I was embarrassed to be spending money on anything other than bare essentials. Now I’ve had those books for so long, I’m happy to be giving them away to my sister as my kids get too old for them. (Not that she wants that many books, but at least she can pick what she likes before donating them to the Goodwill.)

My kids are starting to develop their individual quirks and preferences, but so far no official “collections.” Miss A is funny, though. She has this little table that she’s designated as her desk, and she wants it kept messy so that it will look like her teacher’s desk. Ha ha! Ms. J would be so proud.

  7. Joy says:

I collected stamps and matchbooks for years. I also was always on the hunt for old perfume bottles.

  8. Karen Joy says:

When I was a kid the only thing I collected was those scratch and sniff stickers.I had a nice collection in a book, then a cousin stole it.Im still bitter!LOL!She never admitted she took it.Funny the things that stick with you. When i was a tad older I collected the Boyds Bears figures. Those were so cute and full of detail. Then after moving so much and always unpacking etc I just got rid of them.
