LOVE 7-layer Salad. But we always put a layer of hard-boiled egg slices in. Wonder if that’s a regional thing?
I’m not sure Laura but I’ve never seen one with bacon or cauliflower in it either and I love that. Do you use mayo in yours? I”m not a fan of mayo and would like to use something else but what????? HELP someone.
Joy,I use equal parts of mayo and sour cream(and the sugar, little vinegar) in mine.Ive always used bacon too but no cauliflower,I use celery though.I love the bacon in it!
That’s a great idea Karen. 50-50. I always found the mayo taste too strong in these. Celery is good too.
Yes, I read some of the reviews for this recipe and I did see someone did half mayo, half sour cream. The reason I liked this recipe so much is, you can add or take out anything you want. You could use shredded cheese, cucumbers…the possibilities are endless. And it looks cool!
Oh cucumbers! YUM!!!
I find it too strong too.I do this in all recipes that call for mayo only..like Broccoli salad.
YAY!! I’d forgotten this was in here, and volunteered to bring a 7-layer to the Blue & Gold on Sunday. So where do I check first for a recipe? Here!! And look what I found. Nikki, you rock!
