    The only thing in my daily life that I’d consider a ritual is in the morning I like to sit for 15 minutes or so alone and quiet and drink my coffee and look out the window at the wildlife I see. When Vicki and I are working out we’re pretty consistent so that would be a ritual too.

    The seasonal and holiday ones are like everyone’s. Spent with family.

    Every Sunday I get my Sunday paper, a cup a coffee and sit on the couch and read. Everyone knows this is my time and they better not bug me.

    During the summer, I gripe about how blasted hot it is. Then in Winter, I make up for it by annoying people with how much I love the snow and cold. Since it’s a daily thing, I guess you could call it a ritual!

      I hear you. I hate this weather. This isn’t winter and I hate the humidity. People don’t get it so I usually don’t keep saying it.

    Every Spring we wait for the first spring peepers to show up. We literally count the days until they do. Where we used to live off island we had a little pond in the backyard and when we heard them for the first time in Spring we would all go outside to listen. There are no peepers where I live now so every night when they are due to arrive I drive down to a local pond to see if they have made an appearance yet. Once they do both Sarah and I drive down to listen. We have been doing this since she was a baby~ about 30 years.

    I always roast a chicken during the first big snowfall.

    Wow, reading what we do really makes us sound weird. LOL

    Every Christmas Eve-Eve my Mrs. and I (me and my Mrs. (hehe)) take the entire family out to for a nice dinner. The last three years it has been Outback Steakhouse. We pay the tab and (usually) our son-in-law takes care of the tip. The family is getting bigger and we may need to have a huge garage sale before next year’s dinner! In attendance this year was:

    Mrs., me #4 daughter and #1 son;
    #1 Daughter, #1 Son-in-Law, #1 & #2 grandaughters, #1 grandson;
    #2 Daughter, #2 Future Son-in-Law, #2 grandson (#2 Daughter has #3 granddaughter in womb);
    #3 Daughter, #1 Future Son-in-Law

    I think thats fifteen and they all seem to have pretty good appetites too! But we got out for under $250.00. I think that is the thing we all look forward to each year.

    I have lots of things I do regularly with the kids but I don’t consider them rituals.

    I think I might have had some personal rituals before I had kids.

    Not sure about seasonal ones. Other than trying to do most of the usual seasonal things at least once (like tobogganing or flying a kite) before it’s too late, and celebrating holidays, I can’t think of any.
