T.G.I.F.

Here we are again. It’s Friday. That wonderful day, that tells you the week is almost over and you can leave work at work (hopefully.) Unless you’re like my husband, and you’re already dreading Monday. I say, forget about Monday! It’ll come whether you dread it or not, so enjoy the fact that it’s not Monday, yet.

Go ahead, unload everything here. Tell us about your week, or your recent rants if you’d like. It is Friday anyhow, and it’s time to let it all out and leave it so you can enjoy the weekend. Any fun plans?

I am sooo ready for the weekend to be here. This week was our end of the year at work, my desk is swamped! I have stayed late every day this week and I even worked on Wednesday which I normally have off.
We will be spending Saturday taking down the Christmas decorations. I am actually ready for them come down. I love the holidays but this year it seemed to drag on just a little bit.

We’ve been busy entertaining with Jason’s family in town from SC. They got here on Tuesday and leave on Sunday. Hunter’s b-day is tomorrow. He will be the big 4!! Having his Cars themed b-day on Saturday. We got him a Mater 3D cake. Hopefully that turns out good! We’re picking it up tomorrow and hopefully it gets home all in one piece. We’ve been so blessed with the weather we’ve been having! It’s wonderful. well enjoy the nice weekend everyone.

I’ve been in a bit of a funk this week, I think it’s the aftermath of the holiday week, when I had a houseful. So I’ve been riding that out. I got a few things done, but not nearly as many as I wanted to. Oh well. I’ll ride it out, and I’m sure I’ll feel better in a few days.

This weekend, Josh has a birthday party to attend, at Chuck E. Cheese. I haven’t been there in a billion years, so I’m hoping it will be fun. I have one focus: Skee Ball. 🙂

Our decorations are still up, I’d planned to have them down sometime this week, but between this funk and doing other things, I just haven’t gotten there yet. They’re not really bugging me yet – I didn’t put them up until the week before Christmas, so they’re not “old” yet. But if I don’t get them down soon, I’m gonna be one of those people who still has them up in March!

I have today off and I’m sooooo excited!!!! It’s nice to be home 🙂 And, my car is finally ready at the body shop today! Can’t wait to have it back 🙂

I think I’ve had a really productive week. I’ve worked out 4 out of the 5 days. Vicki and I are back on track and that really feels good. I’m already “walking taller.” I’ve also really scrubbed down the house. It was so full of germs I think. Paul and his brothers spread this gunk around all winter and I’m hoping with the 2 long weekends the germs may have died out and it was so nice I washed and had the windows open for a while yesterday.

We do a football board with everyone at Buffalo Veneer and I’m so excited this year because it’s a former sister in law and I in it for the money this year. It’s called King Of The Hill and each week you pick one team to win out of all the games in the NFL. You can only use each team once and the one who has the most right at the end of the year wins. My sister in law and I are tied but I have better teams left than she does so I’m hoping I can pull it off. I have 3 teams playing this weekend I can use so I went with New Orleans to beat the Lions. She has only the Lions and the Giants left and I think she went with the Lions. IF I win this week, I will be standing alone because she has no teams left to pick from for next weeks games and I have New England left. I’ll be nervous tomorrow. The money will be fun but bragging rights will be more worth it.

Tomorrow we will watch Trinity play basketball. She plays right in town so it’ll be fun. I think I might even eat a hot dog!!! Don’t tell anyone. The sun is out and I’m left wondering where winter is. I miss it and really want it. Have a good weekend all no matter what you do.

I miss winter, too. And all these people talking about how “this is the way it should be all the time”? Are really starting to bug me. If you like the heat so much, move to Florida. This is Iowa in January. It’s supposed to be 5 outside with at least a foot of snow by now.

Well. My day turned out a LOT better than yesterday. I still have a little bit of the funk, but it’s so much better. I had a couple of gift cards to spend, so I hit the mall. I hadn’t wanted to. I went to that particular store online, and found exactly NOTHING. But Steve convinced me to hit the store, and lo and behold, I spent those gift cards plus an extra $25! I got four new tops (ok, two top “sets” – blouse/sweater + cami for under). I guess there really is something to that whole “retail therapy” thing.

Tomorrow’s plans have expanded. Josh and I are still going to Chuck E. Cheese’s (pray for me), but I found out that the ice arena has Open Skate starting at 2:00. His party lets out at 2! Woo Hoo!! I’m taking Josh over there to learn to ice skate! I cannot WAIT!!! I heart ice skating so very, very much, and it’s broken my heart that we don’t have a rink accessible around here. (I grew up with one in my back yard) So I feel like a horrible mother that my son is 8 and still has never ice skated! Tomorrow, I will fix it. 🙂

And then Sunday, we’re baking a cake all day. Monday night is the pack’s annual Cake Auction, so we’ve got work to do. by Tuesday, I’m gonna be pooped!
