Happy Friday, once again! How was everyone’s week? Mine was good. Productive.
Any weekend plans? We have a fun Saturday planned. We’re all going to Trinity’s (Sue’s daughter) basketball game, then heading over to Paul and Joy’s for some burgers and brats to celebrate Paul’s birthday! It’ll be nice to see everyone. I can’t begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to having a good burger and a piece of Oreo Pudding Poke Cake! I’m working out double time this week!
So, what’s going on in your neck of the woods??
Is that the cake you’re making, Nikki?! It was SO good when I made it for work and everyone loved it! Can’t wait to eat it 🙂 Tomorrow (today depending on when you read this) I have the day off! YIPPY! Only b/c I volunteered to stay home since it’s slow. Yes, my new job is slow 😦 Just as slow as my old job so I can’t really figure out why they needed someone, but whatever I guess. Sounds like though, they won’t make us stay home if it’s slow so if I want to drive in an hour each way to sit on my butt I can. Anyway!
The real fun begins with practice Friday night, then immediately after practice we set up for our big tournament on Saturday. Between the wrestling meet and the Snow Daze Dance, we may get set up by midnight. No, I’m not kidding! I was dared today to go to practice in an old prom dress so I could tell the girls I was ready for the dance. LOL! I am seriously considering it! Saturday we play 3 games and it will be a LONG day, but the girls are excited. Trin is super excited that so many people are coming to watch her, and I’m just hoping the girls show up to play on Saturday. You just never know!
Sunday the kids have religion in the morning and then we have our 4-H meeting in the early afternoon and volleyball that night. Somewhere during all of this I’m suppose to build a ship for the 4-H skit!
You SO have to wear the dress!
…and then post pictures!
I am making that cake! I’ve been craving ever since I pinned it, and have been looking for an occasion to make it! I don’t want an entire cake sitting here! lol I hope that I am able to come tomorrow. If this stone passes today, that would be AWESOME! I’ll do everything I can to come, because I really enjoy watching her play. She should have a big, loud cheering crowd! 🙂
You have to wear the dress!!!!
This week has been fairly normal for me. A few really heavy work days, a bit of procrastination here and there, the usual feeling of always being short on time and shorter on motivation.
I’m bummed because my boss-partner cancelled the trip to China that she was going to take. I was looking forward to having a weekend free of nagging. Oh, well, can’t have everything.
I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with the girls’ music practice. They have lessons on Monday so we don’t practice that night. Tuesday we do, but it’s a lot of new stuff so still shaky. Wednesday we go to the museum, Thursday to swimming, Friday out to dinner with the aunties, Saturday usually shopping or to some doing, and Sunday we try to practice twice, morning and evening. I try to squeeze a little practice into most evenings, but it always feels inadequate. I’ve decided to move swimming to Monday starting next week, so we could do a serious practice on Thursday, as well as study (if necessary) for the word test the kids take on Fridays. I’m looking forward to the time when the girls can do most of this on their own.
I’m trying to picture what life will be like when the girls are in 1st grade. The schools have after-school supervision up to 6pm. I asked if they can do any music lessons or the like during the after-school hours, and they said no. I guess we’ll do some combination of having them sit there and read/play some days, and me taking them to activities other days. I’d love to find an arts center or the like that would have a combination of stuff like drama, dance, and music within a short/convenient time frame. Our rec center has sports for that age group, so we’ll probably mix that with free swim one or two nights a week. (Just coming home is not a fun thought, because it means me being pestered about work and pressured to spend less time with the kids, aunties feeding the kids crap, etc.)
My weekend plans are boring – work, shopping, church, work. If the weather allows, I’ll try to get the kids outside to play.
Well, as you can see, I’m boring this week. I hope everyone else has a fun weekend!
My weekend is about half busy. I’m getting over the plague again, so I’m trying to take it easy a little, so I plan to loaf some, but our pack also has our big Blue & Gold Dinner on Sunday, which, as cubmaster, I get to host. It’s a pot-luck, so I need to make a 7-layer Salad in addition to my duties. I’m also the Advancement Chairman, which means I’m responsible for seeing to it that all of the boys receive the proper awards that they have earned. So today, I’m putting all of those awards into presentation packets for them.
Otherwise, not much going on… the weather is crappy for winter, so Josh won’t have a lot to do. He keeps talking about going to a friend’s house, but his friend’s parents haven’t called yet. I’m hoping that they do. He needs to hang out with kids his own age.
Dang, I slept the wrong way last night and have a stiff neck. And zero motivation to get my pile of work out today. Blah! But I really need to get some stuff moving. I just wish I was one of those people whose brain cooperates when it’s time to do something. I’d be so awesome.
The cake looks really good. Looks like a pretty easy recipe too. Sounds like you guys are going to have a fun weekend. Happy Birthday to Paul. Nice to have BBQ to celcbrate, burgers and brats kind of takes the sting out of getting older that and such a nice family. Not sure what we will be doing this weekend. Navar will probably be doing lots of homework.
Wait… THEY MAKE OREO PUDDING???
WHY HAS NOBODY TOLD ME THIS?????
Yes they do and it’s REALLY good!
