Can you even believe this story? Isn’t it cool? Wouldn’t it be nice to find a treasure like this? Did you read comic books? I remember as a little girl going with my grandparents and my treat was going to be a comic book, a bag of chips and an ice cold bottle of pop from a ice chest. Boy, nothing tasted like my Orange Crush cold like that.
What was your favorite comic book? Or “treat” as a child?
I clicked on the link, and it said, “page not found.”
I didn’t read comic books, and neither did my brother. My favorite books were the Baby Sitters Club series. I LOVED getting a new one!
I know comic books can worth a lot! That would be amazing!
Let me go find it again.
Give her a try now.
Yep, it works now.
I loved the Baby Sitters Club too!!!! I also didn’t read comic books but really enjoyed reading. My mom had a series called The Three Investigators written by Alfred Hitchcock and I read the whole series one summer b/c they were so good.
I forgot to comment on this one. When I was a kid, I used to get used comics from some older adults in our neighborhood. My favorite was Richie Rich. I was not a fan of Spiderman et al, but I’d read them if I couldn’t find anything better.
It’s funny how in “the old days” up to around my generation, kids would read everything they could find, and nowadays there are so many kids you have to practically force into reading. Reading because you really want to seems to be the exception nowadays. I wonder why that is – and how I can improve my kids’ chances of being the “read for pleasure” type. I mean, there were always kids who did not read, but it seems the percentages have changed for the worse over my lifetime.
I know TV will be viewed as a likely suspect, but we had TV when I was a kid, so I don’t know . . . .
