Yes, to wherever it’s warm! I don’t usually get away, but it is nice when I can.

  2. Jenny says:

No we don’t. This winter we have been so lucky with the warmer temps!!

Actually the picture I used here is where we always used to take the kids during the winter. There were the odd times it happened to be on Toby’s birthday which is today. We went during the week and got great deals at The Blue Fin Bay and Lutsen. Otherwise we had the cabin in the summer.

I don’t think I’ve ever done a winter “getaway”. I’d like to, though. Somewhere tropical, I think, would be cool, just because of the difference. Although I wouldn’t turn my nose up at someplace like Vail or Teluride.

Toby and I have done 2 winter vacations. One was to Jamaica and one was to Hawaii. Hawaii wins out by far! It’s so nice to get away from the cold and snow, but you have to come back to it so it’s a slap in the face when you get off the plane at home!

Thats funny, I remember when Sue did a post on her vacation to Hawaii. We usually just stay in Montnana in the WInter just hunker down and make lots of soups and stews and blog alot. And look at fish cams with brightly colored fish and dream.

Yes to Arizona for a few weeks.I have family there so we’ve gone the last few years but this winter we stayed home to do our kitchen reno.Up until this week I was actual ok with having to put up with winter as it was such lovely weather. This morning though we need to be dug out.Got hit really hard with alot of snow..not liking it so much.Next year Im out of here for sure.

  8. Nikki says:

No. Not because we don’t want to. Jason doesn’t fly, and I’m not sure I can now either. So, we stay put. Like Starla said, we make lots of soups/stews, blog, FB, hibernate. 🙂

If you loved the north shore in the summer, you’d love it more in the winter. It’s like you’re in another world.

A friend of ours is up there this weekend. He posted a few pictures, and it really is amazing. A lot more fun if you had snowmobiles to take up! How fun would that be?? I wonder if you could rent some , somewhere.

      • Joy says:

Oh yes. All the places you stay have them. It’s a blast up there now. Wouldn’t it be fun to get snowed in up there? Be in a BIG storm. Did you see last week one day the waves were so high they were almost hitting Split Rock? It’s something like 100 feet up there.
