T.G.I.F.

How was everyone’s week? Mine was very good. Very productive. I have just about everything put away. It feels nice to just sit and relax. I’m excited for the weekend! Paul, Joy, Toby, Sue, the kids and Grandma  are coming over for a little BBQ. I can’t wait to watch the kids in the yard.

Sunday, I am going over to the old house and digging up all my flowers. They’re all coming up now, it shouldn’t be too difficult! I can’t wait to get them in their new home.

Any weekend plans?

Here are some pictures of the new house. Just some of my favorite parts of it. 🙂

This is where a lot of my flowers will go.

Our back deck.

Our dining room.

Our kitchen.

The living room is pretty boring, I don’t have anything hanging on the walls yet. But, my cats sure love this big window!

So, there it is! We’re very proud of it, and couldn’t be more happier.

Have a great weekend!

Nice! It is great to find that perfect house. I still love my house nearly 20 years later. I just love the floor plan and the location. Yes, it’s falling down around our ankles, but it’s worth fixing rather than moving.

My week: not bad. Reasonably busy. No major drama.

The nice weather has held so far. I still can’t believe we’re really done with winter, but it’s almost April, so maybe we are. It’s been so long since we had really good weather before May, I don’t quite know how to think about it. Anyhoo, I’m for making hay while the sun shines. I’ve been taking the kids to parks or whatever most days, because you never know when the next nice day will be.

I got some boxes and bags of books, clothes, etc. gathered up to give to my sister, and brought up some more books from the basement. You would not believe how many ABC and 123 books I had collected. I’m glad to see them go. Hopefully my sister will get more use out of them than I did (most of them never made it out of my basement) since her kids are home with her all day. Now I am looking forward to being done with the basic phonics and word books and such. Miss A can still use them for now.

Baby G is having her first birthday tomorrow (Friday). I remember a year ago when we were all praying so hard for her. It’s still hard to think of those days. But Miss G pulled through (and I know prayer had a lot to do with it, so thanks to you all!). She’s a cute little thing and totally worth the trouble.

Weekend plans – just work, shopping, church, and hopefully getting some time outdoors. Oh, and I think I’m supposed to do some work toward our office move which I’m told will be on Monday (tentatively).

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

I can’t wait to see your new home! That deck looks so inviting 🙂 It’s so gloomy here again today that I’m starting to go a little crazy. I need the sun! Today I should clean the house, but we’ll see how far I get. I started spring cleaning a couple of weeks ago and got my bedroom all done and by 2 days out, you couldn’t tell I’d done anything! So frustrating! Then I noticed my microwave the other night! It wasn’t terrible, but really, how does something get so messy?! Does anybody else spring clean or do you deep clean things every so often throughout the year?

    • Nikki says:

LOL I do both! But with just moving, we won’t need to spring clean this year.

I am SO dang excited to have everyone over! Tomorrow, there will be sun!!! 🙂

I don’t really spring clean. I clean whenever I get the bug. But it is nice to do it in the Spring since you can finally open all the windows and put away the heavy cold-weather stuff.

What a beautiful Home! I Love that big Kitchen. I see the sun comes in that’s always a good thing. The deck outside that looks like it will be a lot of fun to have company. Congratualtions I’m so Happy for you! There’s no place like a good Home. :+) I like old wood door in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I feel like I’ve had the tour.

I’m doing pretty good. I’ve had a headache for a few days. I think it’s probably from allergies yuck. The suns been out the last couple of days melting to snow so maybe there is hope for Spring.

I LOVE this. I can’t wait to come tomorrow. I didn’t really get to see everything last weekend with those people there. I love those little shelves in your kitchen that you have the plants on. What a great touch for an otherwise useless spot. I also love your stove? It’s one of those flat ones. I love those. I want one like that next time. Your flowers will look so nice around that tree. Ahhhhh….It’s so nice. I can’t wait to come over. My mom is excited too. She loves getting out on the weekends.

It is very gloomy today and we’ve had quite a few gloomy days this week. It’s been so odd. I had the a/c on for 2 days and the other day had to turn it off and “almost” turn on the heat. It’s been so humid and I struggled a little bit to breathe easy. I think it’s that and the allergies coming. There are buds on everything.

I have a few loads of laundry to today. Do a little polishing and run the vacuum. Paul and I have gone swimming 3 times this week so far and boy, were we ever sore last night. I invented a “pull up” think on the ladders and we both do those and we were sore. I’ve also been doing sit ups by putting my feet in the handrails and I’m up to three reps of 40. Now that the air isn’t as dry our skin isn’t as dry so we can finally go more. The way the grass is turning green and growing, I’ll be out pushin’ that lawn mower around too. I really feel good today.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Ours looks to be fun.

Thank you, everyone! We got so lucky finding this house. We’ve discovered that there are original hardwood floors under the carpet. So, if the floor is level enough, that might be a good project for us, in the future.

The backyard is my favorite part of the house. It’s perfect for entertaining.

Oh, JOY!!! Can you have Paul bring the chain saw Saturday? Jason wants to cut down that crab apple tree. Good project for the guys to do, while we sit on the deck watching! LOL

  7. Laura says:

I’ve got our big Spring Fling tomorrow night. That’s where I’ve been all week… working on the slide show. And poking in, and spending ENTIRELY too much time at ‘another’ site. Sheesh, those people do make me nuts.

Nikki, what a BEAUTIFUL house! It reminds me of the one we used to own, before moving to IA. It was so open and airy, and it opened to a great back yard, too. I love your deck. I can see you girls sitting out there enjoying a HUGE pitcher of Margaritas, and laughing while the men argue over how best to deal with the tree…

Ok, my break is over. Back to the grindstone.
