Pull Up A Chainsaw

Since Laura has a manservant at her disposal this weekend, I told her I’d take over the Pull Up for today. I’ll be happy to learn all that she got done. She’ll probably be one tired Momma tonight.

So what did you do all weekend? Did you work or play? We did both. Friday night we went swimming and worked ourselves really hard and we did it before supper which was nice since I ate WAY less. Then on Saturday we goofed around in the morning and then went over to Jason and Nikki’s new house and us girls talked and did the pizza run while the guys cut down a tree that was blocking a huge view of their yard. It was kind of sad since it was a beautiful tree but I don’t know what they were thinking of when they put it where they did. Anyway, the view is now fine and we had a really good time. We did take my mom shopping after that and by the time we got home we were just dragging.

So do share what you did all weekend but be nice or we’ll make you pile all the wood.

Well, I think I’ve had a good weekend. No major drama. We got a new roof and a new printer, both of which were badly needed. And my kids got a haircut. I watched Easter Parade with them yesterday. Other than that, just ordinary stuff. We did not rush around like we often do, so that was nice. It was too rainy to do anything outside. So we just putzed. I got some work done (domestic and professional) but didn’t really break my back. We were late to church, but I chose not to stress about it. I actually think this was the most relaxed weekend I’ve had in many months.

Can’t think of anything really exciting coming up this week. Our office address is changing, but since I normally work from home, that’s not a biggie for me. We’re supposed to close a deal, but hopefully most of my part in that project is done. I am hoping this week will be relatively mundane. I am not a big fan of fire drills at work.

Manservant!! HAHAHA!!! Wait till I tell him that one! He’ll love it!

Anyway, yes, a wonderful friend came over yesterday and brought his kids with him. Between the two of us, and our four little ones, we worked HARD all day long. We expected to get a bunch done – move a building behind my house (that had been knocked down) to the middle of the pasture and burn it. Repair a fence post and install a new fenceline which replaces the old, broken down one, clear a bunch of dead or junk trees around the place, and replace the mailbox that local hoodlums delight in destroying every summer.

We got the building moved and burned. And that was WITH borrowing the neighbor’s Bobcat (forklift). It took all day. What a job that was. At 11:00 last night, I was out dousing the flames. I’d intended to let the fire smolder during the night, but Mother Nature had other ideas, and sent me a storm, complete with about 20 mph winds, which stirred and woke the flames, so I had to put it out. I was NOT going to babysit the stupid thing all night.

Today, I hung at the house. We had planned for Manservant Jim to come back to work on the fenceline, but my resident trouble-maker, Murphy, followed him home and messed with his feed operation (he’s a hog farmer), so we couldn’t do it. I had his son, Wyatt, over here, though. Josh and Wyatt decided to do a sleepover last night, so the boys were here most of the day, playing. I got some other stuff done around the house. And tonight I had a scout meeting. I’ve just now finished with the minutes, and I”m DEAD tired. So I’m off to bed. Good night.

Great weekend here! Other than the stupid cold wind, that is! How in the world can weathermen be so wrong, and continue to keep their jobs?!?!

Anyways, Friday night Bailey went to the movies with a group of friends, and after I picked him up we sat on our back deck and had a bonfire. Saturday, some of the family came over and that was nice! The men cut down a big tree (like Joy said) and as much as it was sad to see a big tree like that go, I am loving being able to see the whole back yard now.

Sunday, was a day to relax for the most part. We went to Perkins for supper. I love being so close to everything, but we may end up spending more money now! lol Then we went up to the school so Bailey and Jason could play catch, and work on his pitching.

Bailey’s off school all week. He has a dentist appt, today. He may be getting a couple teeth pulled, and he’ll have a consult with the orthodontist. They want the braces on soon, but he has 2 (I think) teeth that need to come out, first. I’m very nervous to find out how much braces are these days. I’ve heard up to $6000. >< So, if you don't hear from me for a while, check the dentists floor because I may have passed out!

Sorry it took so long for me to get to this.

I have a very busy week. I have work scheduled every day! I mean money earning work too! Lol
