Happy Easter from Laura

This is my very favorite Easter Song. I think it should be sung with this much passion and joy in every church across the land. Done to perfection by The Dubliners, I give you, “The Lord of the Dance”… (and I am particularly entertained that McCann dedicated it to Michael Flatley)

If you feel the need to sing along (and I always do), and you need them, the lyrics appear here. Note: in this performance, they skip the verse about the scribe and the Pharisees.

And in related news, Barney McKenna, the banjo player in the video who was going to be taking notes (“euros”), joined The Lord of the Dance last Thursday. May he find that Heaven is one long celidh, full of his beautiful music.

I’ve played it like 800 times since I found it, downloaded it into my iTunes (same song, but studio version), and am trying to figure out how to make it a ringtone for my phone!

    • Joy says:

Are you able to put it on your phone to listen to? If so, can’t you just right click on the song and make it your ringtone that way? That’s how my Blackberry works.

I have this song either on Youtube (which I haven’t figured out how to download the audio of), or another version of it on iTunes, which is a different format than my phone takes. I have to figure out how to rip it from the iTune and turn it into an MP3

  2. Sue says:

  3. Joy says:

    Yes. Happy Easter all.

  4. Jenny says:

Happy Easter to everyone and their families! 🙂
