T.G.I.F.

Happy Friday, everyone! How was your week? Productive? Lazy? Busy? Relaxing? Stressful? I think I had a day of each!

Any weekend plans? We don’t have any plans set in stone, other than the typical baseball practice on Saturday. It’s kind of nice to not have any plans. I’d like to start on the clothes line I want in the back yard. We have so many little projects to do, I’m sure we won’t be bored.

Oh, we’re having some friends over Friday night! Boy, do I need some girlfriends around me, I miss them so much! So, I’m really excited for that!!!

So, what’s up with you? Anything going on this weekend?

This has been a pretty busy week (work wise). My Mrs. And kids have been on Spring Break all week.

If you are reading this on Friday you are reading this while I have our eight year old son at CAROWINDS! It’s a three hour drive from where we are on the coast but a little boy only turns eight once. We are going to gave such a great today.

If we are Facebook friends watch for his smiling face on the picture uploads!

It was a pretty normal week… baseball and Scouts on Tuesday (we assembled our May Day Baskets at Scouts, and will deliver them on… May 1). The rest of this week has been pretty uneventful. I’ve got family coming next weekend (have I mentioned that already?), so I’ve been trying to get a room a day very well-cleaned. I spent this week doing a LOT of laundry. I’d emptied my linen chest for some odd reason a while ago, and whatever project I had in mind got stopped in the middle. Well, the linens never got put back, and both the dog and the cat found a new bed!! The sheets and blankets were COVERED in fur. So I spent the week washing and refolding, and repacking the chest. On the upside, I took the opportunity to clear out a bunch of old clothes from the closet and dresser, and donated two huge garbage bags full of clothes. I’ve also got a box of extra Christmas stuff ready for Goodwill.

Today, I finished the Lego Desk!! I’ve written a post, so that’s all I’m saying about that. You’ll hear more next week, I’m sure.

Saturday, Manservant Jim is back here with his kids – he’s such a help around here. We’ve got a couple of projects to do, if the weather holds for us. And I’m returning the favor by accompanying him to the Scout Shop so he can get a uniform, ’cause I roped him into being my Assistant Cubmaster 🙂 . Ok, he’s buying the uniform. I’m running interference with the shop personnel, because they’re like rabid dogs on a rotting carcass when a customer comes in. They’ll sell you the shelves if you’re not careful!

Sunday, I’m thinking of taking a roadtrip for the day to the Boy Scout Camp where our Summer Camp is going to be held. If I’m going to be responsible for leading the caravan, I do NOT want it to be my first time going there, even if I DO have a map printed out and a decent navigator (my friend Beth usually does the job).

    Otherwise, nuthin’ new going on.

Well, I worked every day this week! Seems to be a rare thing lately, but today (Friday) I’m at my ‘old job’ which will be my ‘new job’ come April 23rd! I’m so excited to go back and be where I finally realize I belong. I guess sometimes it takes a change to admit something you knew all along, but what do you do?! Trinity is have 2 friends sleep over tonight and she’s so excited! Toby not so much, but I told him too bad!! As long as they don’t eat me out of house and home we’ll be just fine 🙂 Other than that, I don’t have much planned and I’m kinda liking it that way!

This week has been kinda icky for me. I had a terrible fever that lasted a day and a half. I haven’t had one of those for 12 years. I was in rough shape Wed and Thurs. It hit me mid morn on Wed and the fever didn’t break until right around 3 on Thurs. Then I just felt weak and OLD. I had a terrible time sleeping last night so I’m looking forward to my clean bedclothes and stuff. I was sweating so much that I had to wash everything. I’m so glad I feel better finally. I think it’s going to take another day or two before I feel “normal” because that kicked my ass! I even had to miss Christopher’s swimming lessons 😦

Like Nikki, I’m looking forward to getting some of the “little” things done around here too. It’s only been since last April that I haven’t had baseboards in my living room. It’s that little stuff that never gets done but if Paul saw it at anyone else’s house, I know he’d give them crap. I was going to work out in the yard and transplant some stuff but it’s going to get really cold again. They “mentioned” snow for Monday. It’s really supposed to be a heavy rain with some snow flakes scattered in but I’m not moving flowers and shock them like that. I can wait.

I hope I get stronger so we can swim this weekend. Happy TGIF to everyone.

Yeah, we got snow a couple days this week. Normally it wouldn’t faze me, but this year . . . weird.

This week has been a busy week work-wise. We finally closed a “big project” today, and that meant many iterations of documents and hundreds of emails. There is also a lot of other stuff going on work-wise. I had so many emails in my inbox and piles of crap on my desk, I couldn’t function any more without clearing it up. Yesterday morning I had about 320 emails (not including junk) and now I’m at 118. Still too many, but it feels a lot better. My computer was also giving me a hard time, but for the moment it seems back to normal.

This is “spring break” from KG, but my kids’ daycare is open, so they are having “fun days” at school. So the kids have been getting a little crazy with the lack of structure. This week I bought the second 16″ bike and took off the training wheels, and today was the first day they tried it out. So far, so good. The two bikes just barely fit in my trunk if I’m very strategic about it. It’s been an OK week with the kids, but I’m looking forward to getting back to their normal daily structure.

This weekend I don’t have any special plans. I hope the weather is good enough for us to go out and do something. I hope I get caught up with my work and sleep. That’s about all.

    Have a nice weekend, everyone!
