Very cute!
The other day I was reading with my kids and the book mentioned that someone needed to “dial the fire department.” Um, what is “dial”?
Remember when we were kids and they actually taught phone etiquette? How many times to let it ring, how far to hold it from your mouth and ear, having to say/ask who is calling, what to say about having to go get your mom/dad to come to the phone. My kids are 5 and I feel like I have to start from scratch as far as phone etiquette goes. Which button do you push to accept the call? When is it appropriate to put it on speaker? Do you take it to the bathroom, and what if it rings while you’re in there? Is it polite to answer the phone when you’re in the library? What if you don’t recognize the caller ID? How soon do we need to answer a message, and is it OK to text or email instead of call back?
That’s funny but so true. You sure can’t make prank calls anymore either. We spent so much time doing that as kids. Just calling people and asking them stupid questions. I do remember being taught to say my parents “couldn’t come to the phone” and never say they weren’t home.
We used to go through the phone book and call people with last names like “fuchs” and “shitz” or whatever. For shame!
Bailey loved this one!
LOL!!!
