T.G.I.F.

Happy Friday, everyone. I hope you all had a good week, and are looking forward to the weekend. As always, I am! I had a good week, nothing I will bore you with. It was good, nothing exciting, which is just fine. The only thing we have planned for this weekend is baseball, of course. Our 1st home double header is this Sunday and we’re all pretty excited about that. We are grilling in between games with the team and their families, and whoever else would like to join us. That is always a good time! Paul, Joy, Toby, Sue, kids…that includes you. 🙂

So, tell us about your week and any plans you might have this weekend. Have a great one!

Well, I lived through the “big deadline,” but not surprisingly, the drama continues. Today was a pretty stressful day. However, I did get a bunch of stuff done this morning on the personal side. Cleaning, laundry, that sort of thing. I find it therapeutic, especially after not being able to really attend to “personal” stuff for so long. (Not that I haven’t washed dishes or clothes for two months, but it’s never been all done to where I could just be in the middle of the house and breathe. You know what I mean?)

Today the girls had their first piano lesson with the new teacher who is now coming to their school on Friday afternoons. Of course I forgot to send their piano books with them, so I had to go up there with the books in the afternoon. I figured I might as well sit through their lessons, which I have never done before. It was pretty pathetic. For some reason, Miss E does not want the teacher to realize she knows much. Weird. I mean, she’s no Mozart, but she can read notes and play stuff that includes, e.g., chords, sharps/flats, etc. Hopefully once she gets to know the teacher better, she’ll hold back less. But, I noticed the teacher is a bit unsure of herself too. She seemed more concerned about whether my kids knew what “number” each finger was versus whether they could actually read notes. Oh well, I’m sure it will all work out once we all get our rhythm, so to speak.

So now the girls have piano, karate, and gymnastics on Thursdays after school. And they are to come to school Friday knowing their memory verse, spelling words, and reading words, and being prepared to take a comprehension test on a book they took home Thursday. No pressure! Good thing it’s a nice long drive from the school to the gym, because that’s where they do most of their prep 0n Thursday evenings.

This weekend I want to finally drive out to see the grandparents. It’s been since May that I’ve been too bogged down with deadlines to take an evening off. I think I read somewhere that the 15th is Grandparents’ day, so that is cool. I guess I should try to think of something to bring my folks, but I have no ideas. There are also a couple of ethnic festivals I might consider going to. I haven’t decided that yet. And on Sunday, I intend to show my face in church after a long time.

I have a lot of work piled up, but I really hope we can start getting back into a routine. Then there will be less to have to “think about.” Right now, I think the plan is: Monday, dance and piano practice. Tuesday, swimming and homework (and maybe piano practice). Wednesday, museum (we haven’t done that in ages). Thursday, piano/karate/gymnastics. Friday, dinner/chill out. Saturday and Sunday, back to what we used to do before we went into “deadline” mode. Every night, baths / therapy /reading.

Well, I have nothing really interesting to report. I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

It’s Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I have the day off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, for the next 3 weeks I will have 4 day weekends 🙂 Just the way she scheduled me and I even asked to make sure it was correct! There’s nothing exciting going on with us. With school here and after school sports, we’re running constantly it seems like.

Joy and I are heading to the craft fair in Hutch this morning to see what fun things I can find her to buy! I have a hard time finding stuff for myself, but I can spot stuff for her and I’ll say, “Oh, you have to get this! It’s perfect!” She has much more wall space than I do so I think that’s why it’s easier to find things b/c they’ll actually fit in her house. Someday…!

Other than that, we don’t have many plans – tonight anyway! Saturday we’re having a fish fry at my parent’s to celebrate mine and my uncle’s b-days, and Sunday I really hope to get to baseball to see Bailey play, but it’s our fall festival at church and Trin has basketball at 3pm. So, I may have to skip church! LOL! Let me tell ya, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Long story short, we have a sub priest for a month and he’s an old retired guy that is way old school and all fire and brimestone and we’re all going to hell. Yeah, I looked at my mom 2 Sundays ago and said, see you in a month b/c I won’t listen to him again. I did not go to church to hear a political ad and that’s what it was. Ugh, makes me irritated just thinking about it!

LOL about the priest. (Is that going to get me in trouble?) Things get a little political at times in my church too. Even if I agree in principle, I still don’t like hearing it in that forum. As Jesus said, render unto Caesar things that are Caesar’s etc.

Sounds like a fun weekend. I wish I could go a game and BBQ. I bet you guys have a great time together.:+) We have no plans here. I’ve had a toothache for a few days so I will probably be stressing out about that and trying to decide what to do and who to go to. Navar’s looking forward to the weekend so maybe we will do somthing fun it’s been a long week for him.
I read you guys are going to a craft fair that sounds like fun. Hope you find somthing that you love. Have a good weekend.

I’m running WAY late this morning so I can’t make this long. I have to pick up Sue in 5 minutes!! I never run late but I can waylaid on the phone. I can’t wait for this craft fair. I look forward to it every year. It helps how much I love the town it’s in. I could live there.

I’m coming to Bailey’s noon game. I’m not sure if I’ll stay for the 4 o’clock one or not. I have to eat healthy on Sunday’s now with the weigh ins on Monday’s. We’ll play it all by ear.

I’ll try and come back on when I get home later. Have a good day all.
