Whew. What a week! Josh came down with some sort of plague on Monday evening, and he’s been down with it (and the fevers that went with it) all week. Poor kid was sick on Thanksgiving, although he gave dinner a good try. But he was glassy-eyed and coughing though it all. The food did help make him feel better, although he’s absolutely convinced that it was the wine (we have alcohol-free, and he tasted it)
This weekend, we might do some shopping. Steve needs a new computer, so we’re going to check out what’s available. I’m also looking for a new one, but thanks to a tooth that broke, I won’t be getting one for a while. The money for my computer went to the crown. *sigh*
What about you guys? How was your week? Did you brave the Black Friday crowds? I have more than one friend who was out all night long last night. I don’t do Black Friday. Although I might consider it if I was going with friends, and had a list of stuff to get. What are your plans for the weekend?
Hi! We went to my parents’ for the holiday as usual, and spent the night Thursday. It was nice to have a couple of days away from work and to chat with most of my siblings and my parents. The kids had a good time too, just chilling and being silly. Today they watched Superman I, II, III, and IV with my mom. Talk about a marathon!
But now, it’s nice to be back home and hoping to get caught up on some work.
Tomorrow (Saturday) we have a party to attend in the evening. Other than that, it will be a normal weekend, gearing up for a normal week. Whatever normal is!
We’ve decided that the whole household is going to sort of “detox” from candy and other sweets over the next month. Starting after tomorrow’s party. Here’s hoping we all have the strength to stick with it and that we see the results we hope for.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
This is so funny. When I started reading this I thought Nikki wrote it. She normally writes the Friday posts and her brother is Josh but I was wondering why in the world she was calling him the “poor kid!” LOL!!!!
I did get the better of the evils news yesterday. Hallelujah. It seems I don’t have what they originally thought. The MDS. What Robin Roberts from GMA has. I have a mild form of leukemia that’s much less aggressive and easier to treat. I will need chemo to start things off but it’s a very mild form of it and most people here at the University of Minnesota don’t even think I’ll lose my hair. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
I think I get to go home on Monday. Pretty nice since I thought I’d be here for 30 days just to start out. They’re going to work together with St. Cloud so I won’t need to travel so far for little things. So they wanted to get my treatment plan set up and talk to the docs there and stuff before I went home. They’re taking everything into account and I’m grateful. This is such a good hospital and I’ve been treated very well.
Hats of to my family. Paul, Jason, Nikki, Toby and Sue. They’ve been right here keeping me company and checking in on me. I’m so lucky. I thank my lucky stars.
PS. Who in the world likes their laptop keyboard?????? I hate this. I’ve never used one before. I’ve always had a separate one and this thing sucks. I’ve lost my comments so many times that I’m writing this in my OneNote program. I’ll hit a key and be somewhere else. What the heck is the trick?????
I don’t have problems with my laptop keyboard, but I *HATE* the little mousepad so much that I turn it off and use a wireless mouse instead.
Sorry, I didn’t even think of TGIF. Thanks Laura, for stepping in and take over for me.
I did do Black Friday, but only the walmart deals at 8pm and 10pm. I got what I wanted and then some…and was home by 11pm! Not bad, and we got some great deals. The longest line I had to stand in was for my big item (TV), and that was only an hour. Well worth it! I will do it again, but I will never do the 5am deals, and be out all night/morning.
