I just got this from Laura so I’m posting it for you guys.
There’s a movement going on tomorrow, don’t know if you’ve heard about it, but several websites are “going dark” in protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act. In a nutshell, SOPA, if passed, would cause users to not be able to access certain sites, much like China bans the use of websites. It is major censorship, and it’s working its way through our congress.
I looked at one article on it, trying to find out what sites are “going dark”, and it mentioned WordPress. So don’t be surprised if you can’t get on our blog tomorrow. Mozilla is blacking out, as well. I couldn’t find a comprehensive list, but it’s possible that Pinterest might be down, as well as others.
Here’s the article.
I just read about it and it looks like Facebook and a bunch of them will be down so we’ll all have our withdrawals. That part was from Joy.
Doesn’t say that facebook will be down, it just states that some sites have vocally opposed the proposed legislation, though they have not said they are joining the online blackout. So we’ll see when we all wake up tomorrow morning!
So far, everything is good. Here, Facebook and Pinterest. I did see a short story on it, but it only mentioned Wikipedia.
One of my favorite sites, Cakewrecks, is blacked-out today.
It’s my day off to catch up! Can’t they pick another day?! LOL! But seriously, I get it and think it’s complete crap.
This was today Sue so you’re okay.
awesome! Because obviously I don’t get here much!
What are your plans for tomorrow?
