Yes they are.My big toe always pop out first.

  2. SanityFound says:

Dunno why but perhaps its because I have so many socks and I walk like a duck but I don’t really get holes honest

  3. nikki says:

I think I may have too many socks to have them worn out. I LOVE new socks and wish I could wear a new pair everyday!!

  4. Joy says:

Yes, my ankle/heel always wears out first.

  5. Sue says:

Yes, my heel wears out first. My husband’s always wear out on the ankles. It’s always a treat to wear new socks!

  6. Doraz says:

Yep, the big toe! This only happens on the thinner socks. My thick ones survive! *)*

  7. Just a Mom says:

Yes, they wear out right in the ball of my foot!

  8. starlaschat says:

That easy, the heal, I need to buy more socks. Some socks are missing so trying to match up colors is time consuming. Left foot, When I put on my shoes the left foot is the one I put on first. Last weeks Question . lol

  9. Gary says:

Mine always seem to wear out at the big toe and on the ball of my foot. 🙂

  10. SKL says:

Yeah, but even weirder is the way my shoes change shape over time – always the same way. I guess it’s not surprising, but it’s the only way I realized that I probably walk weird.

  11. SKL says:

I do wear out my socks and it is such a bummer, because I can’t seem to find the right kind of socks to replace them. I normally wear white cotton socks that go halfway up the calf. Should be easy to replace, right? But every one I’ve bought for years has been way too tight around the calf. Even the ones that promise to be the “most comfortable socks” I’ll ever find. They cut off my circulation and make me very uncomfortable! Am I the only person who can’t stand for my legs to be strangled?

  12. nikki says:

When Bailey was a baby he was pretty chubby and his socks would always leave marks on his legs. I thought well that can’t be comfortable so I cut the elastic very precisely and it worked! They still stayed on but they didn’t strangle his legs!! Now that’s not to assume you have chubby legs SKL!!!!! I’m just saying it’s a thought! 🙂

  13. Laura (LS) says:

No…. they wear out fastest wherever the dog has chewed them…

  14. SKL says:

Ha, I know, I may have thicker (more muscular) legs than typical, but I am not fat . . . slimmer than most, actually. So I don’t think it’s that, but maybe . . . .

Every day I stretch the crap out of my socks’ elastic but it’s still uncomfortable except for the old ones that are getting worn . . . .

  15. nikki says:

I DID NOT mean you were FAT SKL…I hope you didn’t take it that way!!!!

  16. Tessa says:

Funny Question!!! I JUST got done going through ALL of Eric’s socks- he always has a million different kinds and pairs and it drives me crazy doing laundry, so every 6 months or so I go and throw out all the bad ones!! The heel I guess.

  17. Joy says:

You guys crack me up!!! SKL, Paul’s dad used to go NUTS over that. He made, I shit you NOT, a “sock stretcher!!” He used the idea of a shoe stretcher and he’d stretch out all his socks. We teased him for years. When Paul reads this he’s going to get a huge laugh out of it. I can still see that thing in my mind! Grandpa Leonard was one of a kind and I loved him so dearly.

  18. megan says:

Mine always wear out on the bottom of the heel. It comforts me to know that they wear out there, rather than on the big toe (like on my fiance’s socks), which is usually an indication of poorly clipped toenails.

  19. SKL says:

I love the idea of a sock stretcher. I have tried various methods. I don’t see how other people can stand the way socks are made nowadays.

My wee one likes to sleep in her socks, so I make her wear the next size up. I just can’t see how that’s healthy. Maybe I’m just weird.
