Question of the day

I guess any b-day I had at chucky cheese when I was younger! That was always a fun place. I wish they still had one close by!!
oh yea and my 21st b-day! That was a fun night. It was so fun because I wasn’t the one who was puking….LOL
I loved my 13th. I got a red princess phone to match my bedroom and my first call on it was to my grandma Froom to tell her we made it home from Christmas okay. Man, how I wish I still had that phone.
I also really had fun on my 40th. All the neighbors came over and my brother came out. We went to the bar in town and played darts and then came back to the house and ate like hogs. That was so much fun.
My favorite Birthday was when I was 9. I had a sleep over with about 10 girls and we stayed up all night playing blackjack. I think we went to sleep around 7am and then the moms came to pickup their daughters at about 8am. My friends and I still talk about that party!
Best birthday . . . hmm. When you ask questions like this, it tells me how much I’ve forgotten about my life.
I remember my 12th birthday being really special. Kind of like a rite of passage toward being a young lady. I got dressed up in my favorite dress which my grandma had made. My parents took just me to a fancy grown-up restaurant where they had a violinist (I used to play the violin) and they asked the guy to come over and play for me. My other granny took me to have my ears pierced with birthstone earrings. That’s all I remember (we didn’t do birthday “parties” when I was a kid).
I don’t think I’ve ever had an actual birthday “party” for myself. I have had a couple times when friends celebrated with me in adulthood. Those were fun times, but nothing really remarkable. Around my 40th, my brother’s step-kid had a baby shower, and my brother had a “40” cake with black frosting. That was nice of him, but I am not big on attention . . . and to be honest, that cake tasted horrible – but don’t tell Bro I said that.
Best birthday party? …. The next one!
Probably my 16th. My folks threw a surprise party, and all my friends showed up, and we had a big skating party in the back yard. “Back then” my folks flooded our yard every year. It’s a big yard, and nicely flat, so it held water well, and makes a sweet ice pond. So we all ended up on the ice for hours, racing, playing games, falling on our butts, and just generally having a really good time. I think there was pizza and cake involved as well, but it’s the fun that I remember most.
I envy you, or anyone that had parents that did those kinds of things for them. I couldn’t even tell you where I was or who I was with on my 16th.
With our Christmas birthday’s, I envy you too. I didn’t get parties because we were traveling on my day. BUT I loved my red phone.
I don’t know. I don’t recall very many birthdays growing up, so I’m not sure. I remember one pretty clearly. I had a sleepover, I have no idea who old I was…7 or 8, maybe. My mom made cupcakes and different colors of frosting and sprinkles, we got to decorate our own. I remember clearly because I fed my dog a cupcake and i didn’t get into trouble! LOL
As an adult, I have never had a party per-say. Last year was the closest thing to one, and that was fun. We went to the cabin and the company was great, good food, a bon fire with friends. And that’s just the kind of “party” I like! Low-key, no fuss!
My 21st…. great party with lots of friends 🙂
