Pull up a Mortarboard

I think with all this graduation stuff, Pull up a Mortarboard is a good one for the Pull Up Monday. Do you have as many as we seem to have this year? Parties, babies, vacations, Father’s Day man……..June is so busy. So pull up a party and tell us about your June. Ours if FULL FULL FULL!!!!

Did you graduate? What year and where.

No I didn’t graduate. I got my GED the same year as my first born child. In 1995. Better late than never.

Sue just called and I had to google hospitals. Christopher cut his chin on the water park slide and she said he need a couple of stitches. My poor boy 😦 The closest one is an hour away so it’s going to be a late night for them. Cross your fingers.

Tomorrow is our weigh in and I hope to magically get on the scale in the morning and suddenly lose some pounds because I’ve worked REALLY hard this week and haven’t lost 1 so far. Sometimes it’s so discouraging. There’s only 2 more weeks left and I’d really hoped to hit -25 pounds. I’m going to be lucky to hit -20 tomorrow.

My mom also see’s her oncologist tomorrow and we meet her radiologist. I hope to hear good news. I’m not at all familiar with radiation so I’m curious to meet him and see what this next dance will be about.

    Have a great day everyone.

So sorry to hear about Christopher’s chin. Those long nights at the hospital are no fun!

As for graduation, yes – I graduated HS in 1983, undergrad in 1988, law/MBA in 1992.

My niece just graduated high school this year, but her party is in July, so I didn’t have to do anything about it in June.

I also skipped Father’s Day in order to keep our germs away from my dad. I did send him a bag of stuff from me and the girls, and talked to him for about an hour on the phone.

My June is mainly full of big work deadlines. There are lots of fun things I could be doing, but I’m too busy. However, I do plan to go to the music festival near the museums every Wednesday night (like we did last year), and on Saturday evenings, alternate between the zoo and our favorite shopping spots. On other days, just hang out locally for an hour or two when the weather allows, then home for reading and tucking in, then back to work. I think I will also try to get the girls to school earlier, so I can justify picking them up earlier at least some days.

Miss G is doing better with breathing, and is on room air about 12 hours per day now. Her mom is worrying a lot about what the next step should be, as her employer is on her case about returning to work. They are having other difficulties which I won’t get into, but they pretty much run the gamut. I feel so badly for her, but I have to believe things will work out. It’s just a really hard time and I just wish them the strength to get through it and keep on going.

Well, not much else to talk about. I hope everyone has a great week!

  3. I’m suddenly working full-time at a bookstore, which I didn’t know was going to happen. My birthday also falls this month :). But my June doesn’t seem to be as full as your guys’!

My throat is in so much pain right now, and I don’t know what to do. I may go to the doctor but will be embarrassed! Bailey had practice yesterday, and for me, sunflowers seeds go hand in hand with baseball. I now have a shell (very small) stuck in the side of my throat. I can’t get it out. I’ve eaten, drank, I’ve done everything I can. I even stuck my finger down there to try to scrape it out, and ended up throwing. Mexican food is not good for that! 😦 I woke up this morning and now my throat is swollen.

Anyways, other than that…the weekend was good. Weather wise it was pretty crappy though. We celebrated Fathers Day Saturday. That was fun, good food, and great company. Sunday the boys had practice, and we went out for Mexican with some friends.

Today we have an away game, and I hope they win. We just beat this team Friday, but it was close so we’ll see.

    Happy Monday!

Go to the doctor. They might be able to help. Or maybe call and tell them and see if there would be anything you can do. I got part of a hot dog bun once stuck like that and it irritated me for days.

I think I get off at 2 today, I may just run in and see if someone can help me. I’ll give them a call and see if I can make an appt. If not, I’ll go to Urgent Care, because this does not feel good.

Forgot to answer the question. I didn’t graduate. Although I take responsibility for that, I feel like I was never given a fair chance….it is on my bucket list. Whenever life slows down!

I agree! Go to the Dr…who cares if you’re embarrassed. They will help you. Thats what they are there for!
